Rihanna Has ‘Hot’ Chemistry with Maroon 5

When Maroon 5 gave her a call, pop star Rihanna couldn’t resist working with one of her favorite bands.

“I was like, ‘Any song – I don’t care if it’s a song that I don’t like – I want to do it because Maroon 5 is dope,’ ” Rihanna told GMTV’s Carla Romano in a recent interview.

The feeling is mutual, assured Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, who collaborated with the sexy Barbados-born singer for the group’s next single, “If I Never See Your Face Again.”

“She’s obviously beautiful and talented and amazing, and I just thought, ‘Hey, there’s really no better choice. ‘ ”

Levine and his bandmates found the chemistry on set nearly overwhelming.

“I always find it hard to concentrate, so she doesn’t make it any easier!” he said.

Rihanna also felt the vibes, she said. Asked to describe Levine in one word, she replied: “Hot!”

Britney Spears celebrates the Holiday weekend

by Whaling around in the Pacific Ocean. Looks like she sporting her friend Ed Hardy’s swimsuit, not the greatest representation but, hey, it’s all branding, right? Nothing like a little body boarding for Memorial Day Weekend.
Have a Safe and Happy Memorial Day!

Jenna Jameson is the next Angelina Jolie

Only minus the sex appeal and normal muscle structure.
US Magazine says, “I think I’m gonna stay unmarried, and just go for the babies!” Jameson, 34, told Usmagazine.com at Maxim’s Hot 100 bash in L.A. Wednesday. “I’m following in Angelina’s footsteps! We’re trying for a baby, so hopefully in the next couple of months!”
Maybe some baby weight would do you some good Jenna. Not trying to be mean, just keeping this mother#%% real.

Heidi Montag sucks at being a fan.

Any true Dodgers fans, which have to be everyone in the stadium considering how terrible they are this year, would be throwing peanuts at this bad act. Spencer and Heidi paraded around the Dodgers game all decked out in lame fanware. The only redeeming quality in this catastrophe is Heidi sucking the lollipop. Good girl.
Way to be number 1 fans you clowns.

Carrie Underwood Goes Baby Shopping

Carrie Underwood, shopping for baby clothes two days in a row. The country star browsed for her friend’s baby – and she hit up Sunset Kids at Sunset Plaza in Los Angeles.

“She didn’t know the sex of the baby, so she bought some unisex T-shirts and onesies,” a source tells us. The next day, Underwood swung by Kitson Kids to grab more duds for the lucky little one. “She was upbeat and sweet,” an onlooker says.

Oprah Winfrey’s 21-Day Diet Detox

With summer just around the corner, Oprah Winfrey is saying bye, bye to burgers – hello tofu and tempeh!

The talk show host, 54, is going vegan for a 21-day detox plan. In addition to swearing off animal products, Winfrey and three pals from her production company are also banning caffeine, sugar, gluten and alcohol.

What inspired the massive menu overhaul? The small-screen queen credits Kathy Freston’s book Quantum Wellness and online sessions with Canadian motivational speaker Eckhart Tolle. (She’s also getting help from chef Tal Ronnen.)

And as the detox progresses, Winfrey will be blogging the diet’s ups and downs. (Her Web site will also include meal plans and recipes.)

“This 21-day cleanse gives me a chance to think about [eating] differently and see what my attachments are to certain kinds of foods – and what I’m willing to do to change,” she wrote on Sunday (day one). “Don’t know if I’m going to feel better or worse, but I’m willing to try to see if my body at least feels differently.”

So far, Winfrey isn’t missing her meat.

“I had been focused on what I had to give up – sugar, gluten, alcohol, meat, chicken, fish, eggs, cheese. ‘What’s left?’ I thought,” she wrote on day two. “Apparently a lot. I can honestly say every meal was a surprise and a delight, beginning with breakfast – strawberry rhubarb wheat-free crepes

Amy Winehouse Shows Up Late for Awards Event

Amy Winehouse’s father stood in for her Thursday as the troubled singer won a prestigious music award in London.

She showed up late, “literally as the award was being given to her dad,” says her rep.

“Amy unfortunately couldn’t make it,” Mitch Winehouse told guests at the Ivor Novello Awards, where his daughter took the top song prize for “Love Is a Losing Game.” “She’s getting better, and she sends you all her love.”

On Amy’s behalf, the elder Winehouse thanked family members and friends “who continually send us their love and best wishes all the time and every day.”

He added praise for her manager, Ray Grange, suggesting “he should be awarded the equivalent of a Victoria Cross” – a British medal for bravery on the battlefield.

Once she had shown up, Amy, 24, told the BBC, she was “very well” and “very excited and very flattered” to have won. She also wore a heart-shaped pin in her hair, with her husband Blake’s name on it.

She had received two nominations for best song, and one for best-selling song – only to lose to Beyoncé and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar.”

Other Winners
Other winners included Phil Collins, who was presented with his international achievement award by Robert Plant; songstress Gabriele, who won the outstanding song collection prize; and Mika, as songwriter of the year.

Mika, the Beirut-born, London-based “Grace Kelly” singer, 24, said that his new album has been on his mind “every morning, every night, every evening. I took a holiday. I lasted four days, I came back and went straight to work. It’s not the point where I can take a holiday now.”

Brad and Angelina’s Star-Studded Dinner Date

The Jolie-Pitts left their brood at home Monday night for a leisurely dinner on the Cotes d’Azur with Clint Eastwood and Mick Jagger.

Brad Pitt, 44, and Angelina Jolie, 32, joined their celebrity pals and about eight other guests – including Rush Hour director Brett Ratner – for an evening of bouillabaisse, grilled langouste (warm-water lobster) and white wine.

The group arrived at Restaurant Tetou in Golfe-Juan – about three miles from Cannes – at around 8:30 p.m. Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, 64, was the first to leave, and the whole party broke up around midnight.

“Angelina and Brad are adorable,” a waitress says. “They are so in love. The whole table was super nice.”

Film legend Eastwood, 77, directed Jolie in Changeling, which premieres at the Cannes Film Festival Tuesday. (Jolie and Pitt are expected to walk the red carpet.)

Earlier in the day, the couple – who are expecting twins – nipped out for some baby clothes shopping.

Cameron Diaz Says Sex Is the Best!

Nearly 18 months after her break-up with Justin Timberlake after they were together four years, Cameron Diaz is loving her view of the dating scene.

“Men are the best!” the What Happens in Vegas star, 35, tells InStyle for its June issue. “Sex is the best!”

And when it comes to seducing her men, Diaz says she prefers an outfit that accentuates her natural resources: a pair of heels and nothing else.

“You don’t walk around naked?” she asks innocently.

Despite the April death of her father Emilio (the interview apparently took place before the sad event), Diaz – who once professed to thinking she’d be married and a mom by the time she was 22 – terms this a “good year,” adding, “Yeah, I’m happy.”

As for the prospective Mr. Right, “You don’t want the men who want the 25-year-olds,” she says with a laugh. “People think if you’re single, you are incomplete. No. The thing is, I don’t want to be in a relationship that makes me incomplete.”

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer Get Cozy Poolside

After saying he’s a guy “living his life” when photos of him and Jennifer Aniston surfaced, John Mayer continued to do just that. The hot new couple relaxed at the Manadrin Oriental Hotel in Miami Saturday, eating, chatting – and smooching – poolside.

Aniston, who is wrapping up the Miami portion of her new film Marley & Me with Owen Wilson, sat in side-by-side lounge chairs with Mayer, eating salads and talking softly with one another. At one point the singer, 30, whispered into Aniston’s ear, sparking a smile from the actress, 39.

Their quality time didn’t end there. Mayer and Aniston also attended the Miami wrap party Saturday night at NIkki Coconut Grove. Mayer shielded Aniston from photographers as she climbed out of the car. The couple kissed throughout the evening, enjoying ’80s music provided by the party’s DJ before calling it a night.

Apparently one of the most-discussed topics at this year’s Cannes Film Festival is Angelina Jolie’s pregnancy.

First, Jolie’s Kung Fu Panda costar Jack Black spilled the beans and confirmed that Jolie and partner Brad Pitt are expecting twins. Now fellow costar Dustin Hoffman has revealed her due date!

The big day? Today show reporter Natalie Morales revealed on Thursday’s program that Hoffman told her the babies were due Aug. 19.

The new arrivals will be the fifth and sixth children for the Jolie and Pitt. The family currently consists of Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, who turns 2 this month.

“I’m very happy,” said Jolie, 33, according to Today. “Unlike most women, I love being pregnant. [It makes] you feel like more like a woman than you’ve ever felt. You just feel like everything about your body is there for your baby.”

During the on-air interview, Jolie said that she would “possibly” stay in France for the births, and that she and Pitt preferred not to disclose the sex of the babies.

The Jolie-Pitt clan have been staying in France at Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s historic Florentine-styled Villa Maryland.

Morales also reported that the parents do everything they can to keep their children aware of their individual native customs and heritages.

Of Zahara, said Jolie, “Our daughter’s very proud that she’s African.” Of Maddox and Pax: “And our boys are very proud that they’re Asian – they know about their country … down to their food or their flags or their music.”

Jolie also admires her children’s curiosity, saying they “ask great questions about life. They ask questions about war that are poignant and spot-on, because they’re the questions we should all be asking ourselves.”

Robert “Mutt” Lange says that his split from Shania Twain is “unfortunate.”

“It’s just an unfortunate thing that’s happened,” Lange said shortly after the couple’s separation was announced Thursday. “It’s literally just a growing apart, that’s all.”

A source close to Twain also says that the singer didn’t expect the split. “She’s devastated,” another source says. “She’s getting through it with a very close-knit group of family and friends.”

Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, married after a six-month courtship in 1993. They have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.

Britney Spears will get more time with her sons during visitation, a court ruled Tuesday.

“We are so pleased with Britney’s progress, and we are appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress,” Spears’s parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, said in statement after a hearing attended by the pop star and her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

It was not clear how much more time Spears was granted. Federline’s attorney characterized the court order as “an expansion of time.”

“It is a cautious step, but a step forward nonetheless,” said lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan. “We are seeing signs of [Britney’s] progress, and consistency over time is something welcome by Kevin … The children are doing great.”

Spears, with lawyer Blair Berk and both of her parents, smiled as she left the courtroom and headed for her SUV, but did not talk to the press. Earlier, during a break in the hearing, the singer was seen looking teary-eyed. However, during a second break, she smiled and held her mother’s hand as she went back into the courtroom.

During that break, Spears and her lawyers, as well as Federline and his attorney, convened to adjacent rooms outside of the courtroom.

The hearing began around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Spears, wearing a knee-length brown and white dress, was accompanied by her lawyer and both of her parents. Federline, wearing a tan pinstriped suit, was with Kaplan.

Spears has spent the last several months keeping a relatively low profile – and staying out of trouble. The singer was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center’s psych ward in January. Her custody arrangement has consisted of only monitored visitation rights with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, several times a week – but no overnight privileges. Her father and a lawyer maintain legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing.

Since her father took control of Spears’s life, the singer has been spending more time with her family – including her previously estranged mom. (She recently attended a baby shower for her sister, Jamie Lynn, in Kentwood, La.)

Spears has also been hard at work filming her second appearance on How I Met Your Mother, which will air May 12.
